Euroclass fire classification
Euroclass fire ratings affect all of our sold substrates. The graph below maps the individual countries fire rating standards and classifications to the European EN 13501-1 standard. The Euroclass ratings range from A1 (no-combustibility) to F class (extremely flammable).
|Euroclass||Classifcation for smoke or droplets|
|A1||Not inflammable||s1||No smoke|
|A2||Almost not inflammable||s2||Limited smoke production and smoke increase|
|B||Very difficultly inflammable||s3||No limitation on smoke production required|
|D||Well inflammable||d0||No droplets allowed|
|E||Very inflammable||d1||No droplets for longer than certain time given|
|F||Extremely inflammable||d2||No limitation on droplets required|
|National Classification||European Classification (Euroclass)||Comments|
|Non-combustable||A1||This comparison is derived from the definition of non-combustable materials in Approved Document B.|
|Limited Combustibility||A2, s3, d2 (or better)||This comparison is derived from the definition of materials of limited combustibility in Approved Document B.
When a classification includes s3, d2, this means that there is no limit set for smoke production and/or flaming droplets/particles.
|Class 0||B, s3, d2 (or better)||This comparison is derived from Table 10 in Approved Document B, which classifies linings.|
|Class 1||C, s3, d2 (or better)||This comparison is derived from Table 10 in Approved Document B, which classifies linings.|
|Class 2||No equivalence is given in the Approved Documents of the Building Regulations.|
|Class 3||D, s3, d2 (or better)||This comparison is derived from Table 10 in Approved Document B, which classifies linings.|
|Class 4||No equivalence is given in the Approved Documents of the Building Regulations.|
